Brittany Gagliano had never heard of After School Matters until her colleague put out a request that volunteers were needed for a Resume Writing & Mock Interview Workshop hosted by their employer, Barry Callebaut. Brittany signed up to help and has been involved with After School Matters ever since.
At our Annual Volunteer Celebration, Brittany heard a teen express their relationship with their corporate mentor, and found another way she wanted to get involved.
“I wanted to do something more to help this amazing cause,” Brittany said. “I have seen firsthand the positive impact After School Matters has had on many teens, and it’s incredible!”
She and her mentee Hiselda, from Little Village, are currently working together to find scholarships that would make college more affordable for Hiselda’s family.
Just recently, Brittany took her involvement a step further and joined TEAM After School Matters for the Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K. Although she is one of the newest members of the TEAM, she has raised the most money for our teens.
Thank you Brittany for helping us show our teens how much they MATTER!
