The Arab American Hip Hop & Spoken Word Program, Silent Echoes, allows youth to advance their rhyming, rapping, spoken word & performance skills while exploring social justice issues. Youth will write their own work and perform at many events across the city. Youth also work in groups to incorporate their writings into a short film for YouTube.com.
The creative writing and personal narrative performance program is a program where teens explore different forms of storytelling. The group works toward a publication and also performs stories throughout the city of Chicago.
E.Y.E.S. is an innovative program for youth who are interested in positively impacting their community. Youth enrolled in this program will organize and sponsor community meeting/forums and produce media that will be distributed to residents and businesses in the Greater Englewood community.
The Urban Teen/Urban Girl Magazine trains teens interested in journalism, reporting and publishing news and current events for media placement. Teens put their talents to work as writers, journalists, photographers, models and make-up artists as they coordinate their efforts through hard work and fun to create their own youth inspired camera ready magazine publication using the latest computer and media technology.
