For nearly twenty years, the teens of After School Matters have enjoyed wonderful experiences and demonstrated remarkable accomplishments in a variety of fields including visual, literary and performing arts, science, sports, and technology. These experiences are made possible thanks to the generous contributions of so many people who call Chicago home.

Chicago’s culture, landscape, people and public resources provide so much to After School Matters, and in turn, the teens of After School Matters give their talents to the City of Chicago.

Thanks to our instructors, staff, partners and supporters, After School Matters has reached tremendous heights over the last two decades. However, our mission will not be accomplished until we can provide opportunities for more than 50,000 Chicago teens – about half the population of Chicago Public High Schools. Increased support from Chicago’s business community and generous individuals is critical to reaching this goal. We are all stakeholders in the futures of Chicago’s teens, and positive after-school experiences are needed to help them realize their full potential.
