Program Providers

After School Matters works with community organizations, teaching organizations, and independent instructors to run programs in Chicago Public Schools, parks, libraries, and the community.  Our commitment to offering quality programs extends beyond material and organizational support to include continuous professional development opportunities and training for program providers.

Community Organizations and Teaching Organizations

Community organizations and teaching organizations are some of After School Matters most valuable resources. They provide a varied landscape of teen programming at their sites, those of their partners, or at schools, parks, or libraries.

Community organizations include non-profit groups and neighborhood centers that can help provide a variety of program opportunities thanks to their staff, facilities, and relationships with the communities they serve.

Teaching organizations are typically groups that focus on a specific content area or program specialty such as ballet, video production, or martial arts.

Instructors

After School Matters instructors are skilled professionals committed to sharing their knowledge with teens. We seek creative mural artists, advertising executives, engineers, graphic artists, sports managers, journalists, artisans, and other dynamic professionals to run programs in our campuses, which include a school, park, and library.

Applicant Information

Community organizations, teaching organizations and instructors interested in running an After School Matters program must apply through one of two annual Request for Proposals (RFPs): one for school-year programming and another for summer. The RFP applications will be carefully reviewed and selected program providers will be assigned days and locations to run their program based upon availability and preference.

The RFP for Summer 2011 programming will be released in mid December 2010.
