After School Matters releases two Requests for Proposals (RFPs) annually: one for school-year programming and another for summer programming. Summer RFPs are released in early December for the following year; school-year RFPs in early February. The current proposal for 2008/2009 is due March 24th at 5:00pm.
In an effort to streamline proposal submission, After School Matters (ASM) and The Department of Children and Youth Services have developed a web-based system for proposal submission and evaluation. The Cityspan proposal system is the first of a series of modules that will be implemented later this year for program and participant tracking.
Requests for proposals (RFPs) are targeted to existing organizations (both not-for-profit and for-profit entities, business, university, etc.) and adults (individuals not affiliated with any organization) who are interested in providing programs in Chicago's many neighborhoods with After School Matters (ASM) during fall 2008/spring 2009. These RFPs will introduce the protocols, procedures, and requirements required to successfully complete an application and become an instructor.
Please download the Cityspan web-based proposal training manual. This manual provides step-by-step instructions for the on-line proposal process and should be used in conjunction with the Request for Proposals (RFP), which provides more program-based information about completing your proposal.
Please download and read the RFP Instructions before you begin. It will explain the After School Matters (ASM) submission process and answer many of the questions you might have as you complete your RFP application.
CAMPUS PROGRAMS
If you are an organization (including for-profit, non-profit, businesses,
universities, etc.) or an independent instructor who would like to run an
ASM program at one of our 58 campuses, please download the Campus Application
and the appropriate budget (depending on which program model you are proposing
for your program). A campus (formerly "cluster") includes, but is not limited
to, a high school, a park, and a library (the Downtown Region campus comprises
only gallery 37 Center for the Arts). Applications may be submitted for one
of five program models: pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, advanced apprenticeships,
club37, and NeighborSports.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
If you are a non-profit community-based organization that
would like to run an ASM program at your organization's space,
please download the following two documents. Programs may also be run at your
partners' spaces as long as you provide ASM with linkage
agreements between you and your partners. Applications may be submitted for
one of five program models: pre-apprenticeships, apprenticeships, advanced
apprenticeships, club37, and NeighborSports.
