For more than two decades, After School Matters programs have inspired Chicago teens as they develop their skills and discover brighter futures. Alumni of our programs have gone on to achieve great academic and professional success. Talented artists, educators, chefs and broadcasters are a few of the many examples of young people whose lives were positively impacted by their participation in After School Matters.
We are always interested in hearing from After School Matters alumni. Recently, we distributed an online survey to thousands of alumni. Of those who responded, we learned that 80 percent were either currently enrolled in college or have already earned a postsecondary degree. Further, just over 88 percent indicated that participation in After School Matters influenced their current job and/or education path in some way. Many alumni explained how they made important and meaningful long-term relationships with peers and instructors as a result of their participation in After School Matters.
Any individual who completed an After School Matters program and is no longer in high school is considered a member of our Alumni Community. Although we have grown and expanded, After School Matters was originally known as the Gallery37 program. This was a proud chapter in our history, and Gallery37 alumni are vital members of the After School Matters community.
