After School Matters offers opportunities for teens to work as an intern with an After School Matters program or at one of our partner schools.
Participating teens must by 16 years of age to be eligible for an internship. Internships are available within After School Matters programs at Chicago Park District locations, Chicago Public Schools high schools, and select partner organizations.
Every summer, After School Matters offers supervised advanced internship experiences for teens to apply their skills in real workplace settings. Advanced internships are offered in partnership with a variety of organizations and within departments at After School Matters.
Graduating high school seniors can take their skills to a higher level through an advanced internship, applying skills learned in our apprenticeship programs to real-world settings within partnering organizations and companies.
Participating teens must meet the following requirements to be eligible for an advanced internship:
1. Be at least 18 years old
2. Have participated in 3 or more After School Matters cycles with an 80% attendance rate
