September 22, 2015 – Last night, more than 1,000 supporters helped to raise $4.7 million toward providing Chicago teens with more after-school and summer opportunities at the 2015 After School Matters Annual Gala. The event, presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois and hosted by the Board of Directors, featured close to 300 teens showcasing their work through interactive displays and exhibits, and breathtaking stage performances. These teens represent a fraction of the more than 15,000 teens that After School Matters served last year.
One performance featured more than 100 teens from three different After School Matters programs collaborating on a very special interpretation of the song “Glory” from the movie Selma. Watch below, and share the inspiration:
